The Edenton Police Department is hosting demonstrations of the Wrap Reality virtual training platform for its neighboring law enforcement agencies

TEMPE, Ariz., Jan. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) (the “Company”), a global leader in innovative public safety technologies and services, today announced that the Edenton Police Department in North Carolina has engaged surrounding departments for live demonstrations of Wrap Reality, WRAP’s virtual reality training platform.

The initial purchase and installation of the Wrap Reality system in Edenton took place in early November 2021. Since its installation, the Edenton Police Department has hosted 10 local departments to test the virtual reality system.

Adoption of the Wrap Reality platform follows the department’s takeover of BolaWrap® Remote Restraint Technology in July 2020. After receiving a grant from the North Carolina Governors Crime Commission, the Edenton Police Department can now transition to full deployment pending delivery of the next generation device, the BolaWrap 150 , which was manufactured in December 2021 .

“Wrap Reality provides transparency and allows agents to see their mistakes and adapt accordingly. In the area of law enforcement, we have seen and experienced so many tragedies in our country, when it comes to the use of force. So upgrading to the BolaWrap 150 is, once again, an extra tool in our belts to keep our citizens and officers safe. This is in addition to the Wrap Reality training platform, which helps correct errors in a training setting instead of having a critical incident in the real world,” said Henry King, Chief of the Police Department of ‘Edenton.
